Indepet Set To Expand
Since the launch of Indepet Limited a few months ago, the independent buying & marketing group specialising in the pet care industry is beginning to take shape under a new logo. The Indepet group has already published the first issue of its pet business newsletter, Inside Indepet, is working on establishing a web presence and is set to produce its next product catalogue in January 2011.

National business manager, Blair Collins, has spent his first few months on the job in meetings with suppliers and prospective Shareholders who have expressed strong support for the new independent retailing concept.  “We recently signed on Kellyville Pets at Kellyville and Pet City, which is an icon of the large Brisbane market. Kellyville a critical step in our growth plans for New South Wales.  We have also embarked on a major membership drive in all the other states.”

According to group chief executive, Grant McShane, NRI’s decision to be part of the Indepet venture was driven by the NRI Board’s belief in a better way of servicing independent retailers of the pet care industry. He said the venture gave valuable non-rural exposure to a large market with strong growth prospects which is important for expanding and diversifying both the NRI and Indepet businesses longer term.
